On qualification Robert joined Goodman Derrick and subsequently moved to British Virgin Islands (BVI) law firm O'Neal Webster where he headed the trust department. Robert was admitted as a solicitor of Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (BVI) in 2005 and continues to advise on BVI law. Robert deals with both UK and international tax planning for individuals and trustees.
Robert was previously assistant group company secretary for both Oceonics Group plc and the Eastern Counties Newspaper Group (now the Archant Media Group). He is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Robert has published a number of articles including the BVI entry in Trusts and Trustees 'World Trust Survey' for 2006 and 2007.
