International Work
Dawsons Private Client Department acts for a broad range of clients based both in the UK and internationally.

In recent years, the emphasis has shifted from being principally a department advising UK  clients to one which is noted for its expertise on international tax planning, particularly for UK resident but non-domiciled individuals.

A large part of the department's work is advice provided to wealthy international families most of whom will have some connection with the UK but where the advice frequently deals with their international affairs – to some extent the department will act as a central co-ordinating "family office" for some of its clients, although the department does not involve itself directly in investment matters.

The advice can be very broad ranging, both in relation to UK matters, and non-UK aspects, and there is an increasing flow of work from clients who require detailed and commercial advice in relation to their international tax affairs.  Increasingly, Dawsons is instructed to act on behalf of the major offshore trust companies' trustees who are reviewing their trusts in the light of changes in UK legislation, and the department is very experienced in all aspects of UK trust law and international probate, and through its extensive connections with overseas advisers is able to obtain advice in most jurisdictions where international work is carried out.
